Destia experienced record growth and strengthened sustainable infrastructure construction in 2025
The year 2025 was exceptionally strong and successful for Destia. The company’s revenue rose to approximately €790 million, with business growing by 25 percent compared to the previous year. The order backlog was exceptionally strong at the end of the year. Profitability improved further and reached its highest level ever, both in absolute terms and relative to revenue.
Chairman of the Board Tero Kiviniemi commented on the results:
“A strong financial performance and an excellent order backlog indicate that we have built a sustainable foundation for future growth. Growth was particularly strong in railway construction, data center projects, and projects related to securing critical infrastructure. The outlook for the coming years is stable, as, for example, tram projects in the capital region are just getting started.”
At the same time, Destia made determined progress towards its sustainability goals and published its first sustainability report, reinforcing its position as a pioneer in sustainable infrastructure construction.
In 2025, the company reduced its Scope 1 and 2 carbon dioxide emissions by 47 percent compared to the 2020 baseline. The Low-carbon infrastructure project concept expanded to several projects utilizing low-carbon materials and fuels, as well as emissions accounting.
The employee net promoter score rose again to a record level of 51, and the number of employees continued to grow, reaching nearly 1,900 by the end of the year. Destia also offered summer jobs to nearly 300 trainees, demonstrating its commitment to young talent and continuous learning. During the year, particular emphasis was placed on improving safety culture. The accident frequency rate decreased to 3.9.
Heikki Haasmaa, who started as Destia’s CEO at the beginning of March, commented on the outlook for the current year:
“The year 2026 started from a strong position. Although the operating environment in Finland remains challenging, we see significant potential in our strategic growth areas, particularly in energy and industrial services as well as investments in the green transition. We will continue to focus on sustainable growth, employee well-being, and supporting our customers’ success.”
Destia aims to advance sustainability in a balanced manner. Promoting safety culture and workplace well-being, combating the grey economy, ensuring a sustainable supply chain, and maintaining good governance will receive increased emphasis alongside environmental considerations. The company will continue its work protecting Finland’s critical infrastructure and promoting comprehensive security.
Destia’s first sustainability report brings together the company’s key environmental, social, and governance (ESG) goals. The report outlines Destia’s long-term efforts to promote sustainable infrastructure construction and overall security in society.
