Ethical and responsible governance

Our aim is to be a forerunner in ethical and responsible governance. We manage our operations with integrity, transparency, and long-term commitment. Good governance for us means an ethical corporate culture, a sustainable supply chain, and commitment to comprehensive security. These elements ensure trust, competitiveness, and continuity of our operations in all circumstances.

Corporate culture

For us, ethical and responsible governance means a corporate culture built on safety, collaboration, sustainability, and continuous improvement. Our values and leadership principles guide all our actions and decision-making.

We create and develop our corporate culture through

  • leadership and managerial work
  • defining and communicating shared values and ways of working
  • onboarding and training
  • employee engagement and feedback channels.

We invest in open leadership, employee participation, and continuous learning. We want to ensure that our personnel understand Destia’s operating principles and their own role in putting the principles into practice. Ethical principles and sustainability practices are part of our onboarding and training, and we regularly monitor their implementation through surveys, evaluations, and feedback channels.

Our corporate culture supports our strategy and ensures that sustainable practices are a natural part of everyday work at all organizational levels. Our goal is to ensure that sustainable business and good governance are carried out consistently and with a long-term perspective.

Sustainable supply chain

We only operate with sustainable and reliable partners. We manage our supply chain transparently, in an equal manner, and in accordance with ethical principles. We require our suppliers to comply with laws, environmental standards, and working conditions, as well as to commit to shared sustainability goals.

We assess our partners based on risk as well as social and environmental criteria, including

  • environmental impact management and regulatory compliance
  • ensuring working conditions and occupational safety
  • compliance with ethical business models.

Our procurement process is based on open and predictable procedures, equal treatment and the promotion of competition. We monitor sustainability through, among other things, EcoVadis auditing and the Reliable Partner service.

We actively combat the grey economy and ensure compliance with legislation, ethical principles, and transparent operating models. By supporting smooth payment processes, we help maintain the financial stability of our suppliers. Payment terms are clearly defined in contracts, and payments are made according to agreed conditions and schedules.

Our aim is for our entire supply chain to operate in a sustainable, ethical, and transparent manner.

Comprehensive security

Comprehensive security is a key part of our operations. We build and maintain the critical infrastructure of society, which makes preparedness, anticipation, and continuity management part of our everyday work.

We manage preparedness through our contingency team and regularly conduct exercises for various crisis situations to ensure the continuity of our services even during disruptions and exceptional circumstances.

Destia has preparedness and contingency obligations, and we operate as part of society’s critical infrastructure. We work closely with authorities and stakeholders to strengthen security of supply and societal resilience.

We act sustainably and independently as a safeguard of vital structures and services. Our aim is to ensure the functionality of everyday life in Finland and the critical infrastructure of society in all situations.
