Social sustainability
At Destia, people are at the core of everything we do. Our goal is to enable sustainable and meaningful careers for our employees throughout their working life. We strive to provide a safe, healthy, and equal work environment where everyone can thrive and develop according to their strengths. We take care of our employees’ well-being, work ability and competence in different life situations so that they can succeed and enjoy their work.
Occupational safety and well-being
Our goal is zero accidents and healthy and committed personnel. We ensure that all our employees and subcontractors working on our sites have safe and healthy working conditions. In addition, we promote the overall well-being of our personnel by focusing on aspects such as meaningful work, competence development, feedback, and recognition and rewarding.
Safety is an integral part of everything we do and of every stage in the lifecycle of our projects. We aim to be a forerunner in proactive occupational safety and the safest workplace in the construction industry in Finland.
We support work ability through an early support model and close cooperation with occupational health care services. Our aim is to prevent disability and to offer alternative solutions, such as part-time work and task modification.
We encourage our employees to take care of their own well-being and provide targeted support measures, especially for those performing physical work. We pay attention to work–life balance by considering the needs of people in different career and life situations.
Diversity, equity and inclusion
At Destia, we are committed to fostering a culture where every employee across the entire value chain feels valued and included. We believe that a diverse workforce and an open culture strengthen our sense of community, well-being and success throughout the organisation. Humanity is our strength.
Equality and equity are not only about culture and well-being. We also succeed together when each of us has the opportunity to use our skills and do our best. We evaluate everyone based on their actions, not on their background or personal characteristics.
We are building a work environment where professionals from different linguistic and cultural backgrounds can succeed and feel comfortable. International experts bring Destia new perspectives and skills that are essential for the renewal of the infrastructure sector.
Continuous learning and career paths
At Destia, we believe that goal-oriented competence management enables a culture of continuous learning and development. We encourage our employees to actively develop their skills at work and provide diverse opportunities to do so. This way, every Destia employee has the chance to grow in their role and build their own career path.
We encourage our employees to engage in continuous learning and development through on-the-job learning and annual career and competence discussions. These discussions help us monitor the development of skills and review long-term career goals and progress.
