Tailored EV charging solution supports Hartwall’s transition to electric transport
Electric vehicles are gradually becoming more common in heavy commercial transport. One example is Hartwall, which has launched electric freight operations from its brewery in Lahti. In October 2024, we delivered the company’s first high-power charging station, enabling the introduction of its first fully electric heavy-duty vehicle combination.
Hartwall has long been committed to reducing emissions from its transport operations and is now taking another significant step by introducing its first fully electric heavy-duty truck and trailer combination.

Destia delivered a polished, tailor-made solution that meets our needs and supports the electrification and continued development of heavy-duty transport,” says Tomi Heinäaho, Logistics Manager at Hartwall.
The charging solution delivered by Destia includes a dedicated transformer substation and a Kempower charging system with four charging satellites installed alongside the loading bays. The system provides a total charging capacity of 350 kW. It has also been designed with future expansion in mind, allowing both charging capacity and the number of charging points to be increased as demand grows.
