Nationwide high-power charging network supports the growth of electric mobility

The rapid growth of electric vehicles is driving increasing demand for fast, reliable and convenient charging infrastructure across Finland. Between 2023 and 2024, we delivered more than 20 high-power EV charging stations nationwide for the energy company St1.

St1 is building a comprehensive nationwide charging network at its St1 and Shell service stations. The charging hubs are strategically located along major transport routes, with each site featuring 4, 6 or 12 charging points, depending on the size of the station. All charging points are high-power DC fast chargers.

Under our framework agreement with St1, we were responsible for both the construction of the charging stations and overall project management.

The St1 Charge high-power charging hubs utilise state-of-the-art technology to provide reliable ultra-fast charging. The charging points delivered under the project offer significantly faster charging than conventional AC and standard DC charging solutions. Each charging hub provides a minimum total charging capacity of 600 kW, while the largest sites offer up to 1.2 MW. This represents some of the highest total charging capacities currently available on the Finnish market. The available power can also be dynamically distributed between vehicles charging simultaneously, maximising charging efficiency. The charging stations are compatible with both fully electric vehicles and the latest generation of plug-in hybrid vehicles.
