Destia acquires the electricity business of Rificum Oy to strengthen energy business

Destia acquires the substation construction business of Rificum Oy to strengthen its energy business. The acquisition sees the substation construction business of Rificum Oy, their 14 employees and equipment become part of Destia on July 31, 2024.

Rificum Oy has been a Destia subcontractor in electrical installations and commissioning of substation projects and has versatile experience in electrical works in both construction and renovation projects.

The acquisition ensures that we have the resources for the expansion. We have already worked with the he installers and commissioners of Rificum Oy for several years and warmly welcome them to Destia”, says Tapio Salo, Head of Energy and Industrial Services business division at Destia.

Destia implements a wide range of energy infrastructure projects from wind and solar power to the design, construction and maintenance of power lines and electricity networks and substations. For example, Destia is currently building Finland’s first synchronous condenser for Fingrid to balance the fluctuations of wind power in the transmission grid.
