Geotechnical design
Geotechnical design literally lays the foundation for infrastructure construction. One of its main responsibilities is to identify already in the early stages of a project the earth and bedrock properties required during design. Through survey and calculations in the design phase this knowledge becomes clearer allowing for suitable solutions to take place.
Using our extensive geotechnical, rock engineering and geological competences, we produce cost-effective designs all the way from preliminary design to design during construction works. In addition to the geotechnical design of road projects, we offer our strong competence on road and municipal engineering projects where the dense urban environment imposes new types of challenges on geotechnical design compared to traditional roads.
In the last few years, we have also strengthened our railway project expertise, where the design premise is often very different from other forms of infrastructure. We have several years of experience in mining infrastructure design from waste and soil dumping design to the geotechnical design of basin structures and cover structures.
In addition to traditional geotechnical design, we also boast strong expertise in the utilization of recycled materials in infrastructure construction, as we can provide our customers with our expertise for low-carbon solutions.
We offer our services to the Finnish Transport Infrastructure Agency, Centers for Economic Development, Transport and Environment, municipalities as well as to private organizations.
